Finding the car, then meeting it in California
Rennlist member sampelligrino helped his father find an Arena Red 993 coupe with a black interior and Tiptronic. He described it as a C2 with 37,000 miles when purchased through Hennessy Porsche. After a difficult year for the family, the car became the starting point for a memorable father–son trip.
From Los Angeles to the Bay Area
The poster said Goldcrest Motorsports had prepared the car, including new struts, replacing H&R springs with OEM springs, control-arm bearings and a Porsche Classic Radio, along with other service and cosmetic work. The car was shipped to Los Angeles, where father and son saw it in person. They explored the area before driving north to the Bay Area; the poster particularly praised the sunrise drive on State Route 33 through Ojai. The photographs retain the pickup, people, city stops, coast, roadside views and view through the windscreen in their original order.
Questions that remained after the journey
The account also asks about a front-end noise while the car is moving. A technician’s oil-flow suggestion had not convinced the poster, and no resolved diagnosis is established here. His immobilizer question describes a worry prompted by other stories, rather than an actual failure of this car. These open questions remain separate from the travel album.
