A sudden puddle first looked like oil
Dawg82 reported four years without oil spots, then found a large clear puddle under the engine after a drive. He described a steady drip above the nut marked in his photo. The pressure gauge had stayed normal while driving, and he heard no unusual sounds. The photo shows a puddle on the ground and the author's red arrow at the underbody area; it does not identify the fluid or failed part.
A reply questioned the oil identification
Idaho911 questioned whether the liquid was oil, pointed to what he thought was green coolant near the arrow, and suggested the water-pump area. This was the commenter’s interpretation of the photograph.
The owner reports the mechanic's diagnosis and work time
Dawg82 said the mechanic diagnosed a dead water pump and reported six hours for the work, including flushing and replacing the coolant. He compared the cost with a water-pump job on his 2003 Tahoe. The thread does not say that the leak was confirmed resolved or identify the replacement pump.
