Vehicle and work context
The author replaced the engine air filters over a weekend when their 2009 Carrera reached 15,000 miles. The illustrated account opens the upper housing cover and replaces the filters on both sides.
Removing the housing cover
The author notes that the cover screws are not captive and highlights keeping removed screws from falling into the engine bay. Screw counts and tool sizes still need to be checked against the actual vehicle's components.
Filters and retaining screws
With the cover removed, the left and right filters and their retaining screws are exposed. The source photos show the exposed filters, the right retainer, the left retainer and the space after removal, in that order.
Replacement filters and rubber supports
The source compares new and used filters, then shows the rubber supports. These images provide context for checking filter and support placement during reassembly; appearance alone does not establish a replacement interval or parts compatibility.
An owner's experience and service specifications
The reported work time and tightening feel are the author's experience. This review does not turn them into a manufacturer's labor allowance or official torque specification, and supplies no verified torque values.
