Porsche 997 bi-Xenon headlight adjuster diagnosis
Hatzenbach investigates a low passenger-side beam and an ineffective lower adjuster, then practices disassembly on a scrap headlight. The account stops before a confirmed repair result.

A low passenger-side beam
In the 997 forum, Hatzenbach describes a passenger-side headlight identified as a 2009 bi-Xenon unit that points very low. The owner reports that auto-leveling works and that the headlight-control sensor on the left lower control arm works. These are the owner’s reported checks. The exact work vehicle’s model year, trim and engine are not established by the post body.
The lower adjuster does not move the carrier
The owner says the lower adjustment screw has no effect on the passenger light, while the corresponding adjustment works on the driver light. After opening the light, the owner describes two internal spindles that tilt the light carrier up or down and marks the area in the photographs. The upper mechanism works, while the other does not. The exact failed internal part is not confirmed in this account.
Practice on a scrap housing
Hatzenbach later bought a pair of headlights from another forum member and a scrap housing from eBay to practice on. In the follow-up, the owner says reaching the affected area required removing the front lens on that practice unit and thought the part appeared integral to the housing. The owner hoped to combine usable parts from two damaged lights. The post ends with work to be continued: it does not document a completed adjuster repair, installation of the replacement pair, a restored beam setting or a durable result. The photographs below belong to this scrap-unit practice, not a confirmed finished repair.
