Months of chasing a rattle
This account was posted in the E90/E92/E93 M3 forum; the exact work vehicle and year are not stated. M3MATT reports about 17,000 miles and many track days on a Turner valved exhaust system. After months of investigating a rattle, the owner noticed a crack on the passenger-side muffler near the pipe connection while the car was on a lift.
Pressure on the area quieted the noise
The owner says a friend applied pressure to that area and the noise stopped, which led the owner to attribute the rattle to the crack. The accompanying photograph shows the pipe-to-muffler area. This is the owner's reported check, not a separate diagnostic test or evidence of a recurring defect across these exhaust systems.
A temporary result, with welding still planned
M3MATT applied JB Weld over the crack and reported that it worked for now. The owner planned to have the area spot welded and report back. The post does not report that welding completed, a follow-up distance or a lasting repair result. The account does not establish a general repair method or the durability of the adhesive application.
