2011 BMW E92 M3 27CE diagnosis and fuel-pressure sensor replacement

Bion_ reports that an EKP module change left the warning in place, followed by improvement after a fuel-pressure sensor change. The discussion records the unsuccessful first attempt and the limits of the reported result.

A 27CE code on a 2011 E92 M3

Bion_ describes a 2011 E92 M3 showing a 27CE code after recent TPMS coding and a DME update. The timing is part of the owner's account; the thread does not establish that either change caused the fault. The owner initially suspected the EKP fuel-pump control module after reading other reports.

The EKP change did not resolve this car

The owner later stated that the EKP module was not the answer and the SES warning remained. The car reportedly drove normally apart from being a little jumpy on the first morning start. The owner then ordered a fuel-pressure sensor.

Checks discussed but not confirmed complete

dparm asked whether the leak, sensor, pump and pressure-control checks shown in the attached diagnostic material had been performed. Bion_ explicitly said a leak check had not been done. The discussion therefore does not document completion of that test sequence, and the owner's pressure interpretation is not an independently verified diagnosis.

The owner reports improvement after a sensor change

Bion_ later wrote that the fuel-pressure sensor had been swapped and that 'life is good.' This is the owner's brief outcome report. The post gives no part number, confirmed sensor location, replacement procedure or follow-up distance, and does not establish a universal fix for 27CE.

A separate owner’s follow-up

jqsmooth separately reported that a sensor replacement initially made no change, then said the codes had not returned over about 100 miles after clearing them again. That distance belongs to this commenter, not Bion_'s repair. Other replies questioned which sensor was involved; they do not identify Bion_'s replaced part.
