Porsche 996 oil leak after driving
r6cavy traced small drips appearing as the engine cooled. A borescope and cleaning drew attention to a cover bolt, but the owner still reported weeping after slightly tightening it.

Small drips during cool-down
r6cavy described oil spots after a good drive: there could be nothing immediately after parking, followed by drips about an hour later. The spark-plug areas looked dry to the owner. He said the AOS had been replaced the previous autumn and the engine had recently been rebuilt under warranty. He wanted to locate the leak before making the long trip back to the builder, and later placed the drips near the rear wheel on the driver side.
A borescope brought the cover area into view
After the borescope arrived, r6cavy suspected seepage around a cover or bolt and said he could see nothing oily above the cover. He planned a closer look with the car raised. These photographs document the area he inspected; the suspected source was not confirmed.
Cleaning and a small adjustment did not stop the weep
The owner later wondered whether a timing-chain bolt was involved. After cleaning the area and removing the rear wheel for a better view, he thought oil was weeping through a cover bolt. He said the bolt felt loose and he tightened it slightly, without giving a torque value, but it still wept. He described only a couple of drops and barely measurable oil in a container after a week. This was an unresolved diagnosis, with no documented sealant repair or leak-free result.
